EllenTV.com also made a short article filled with short tidbits and fun facts about Josh!

Josh Hutcherson was here to tell Ellen about two upcoming films he’s starring in — “Journey 2″ and “The Hunger Games”! While he was here, we were able to find out some fun facts about him. Check it out!

Josh was born October 22nd, 1992 in Union, Kentucky. The population of Union is 5,379, which means Josh has approximately 30 Twitter followers for every 1 person in his home town.

His mom works for Delta Airlines and his dad works for the Environmental Protection Agency.

He used to have a blanket called “Yellow Blankie” that he carried with him everywhere. He didn’t say when he gave it up, but we’re guessing it must be at least a year or two ago.

He has two dogs named Diesel and Nixon.

Josh was in the movie “The Kids Are Alright.” He’s also a big supporter of the organization “Straight But Not Narrow.” You can see his YouTube video about it right here!

He’s a charming and friendly guy, and we all enjoyed his visit to the show. Let’s hope he comes back real soon!

If the plot of The Hunger Games, the first book in Suzanne Collins’ wildly popular young-adult trilogy of the same name, sounds brutal- 24 children, ages 12-18, fight to the death as “tributes” to a tyrannical government that would make Caligula blush- you should see the fandemonium around its March 23 leap to the big screen. “I read all three books in five days,” says the film’s leading man, Josh Hutcherson, 19, who plays Peeta, the handsome tribute in love with Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss. “I’ve never read a character I’ve connected with more- I am Peeta.” Director Gary Ross (Seabiscuit) and Collins, who together wrote the script, agree. “He’s so unbelievably charming,” says Ross. “When he auditioned, Suzanne and I looked at each other. We’d both been knocked out.”

But Hutcherson is more than the sum of his charms- the puppy-dog eyes, the square jaw, or what Ross calls the “easy, winning grace” of a young Jack Lemmon (you never hear that about the Twilight brooders). At nine, when pleading with his parents failed, the Kentucky-raised Hutcherson dialed a Cincinnati talent agency he found in the phone book. “I’m persistent,” he says. Since then he’s held his own in The Kids Are All Right opposite Annette Bening and Julianne Moore, starred in the 3-D family-adventure Journey franchise (which continues with the just-released Journey 2: The Mysterious Island), and dined with Clint Eastwood and Lauren Bacall, his costar in last year’s Carmel-by-the-Sea. What does Hutcherson make of it all, 10 years after that phone call? “Like Peeta would say, it doesn’t change who I am.” He is persistent.

Josh and Jennifer sat down and talked “The Hunger Games” with MTV News’s correspondent, Josh Horowitz. The banter between the two is very cute and does give us a glimpse at the on-screen chemistry the pair share. In the videos, Josh and Jen talk about their favourite scenes, their most anticipated scenes to film for “Catching Fire” (hint from Jen: “We get married!”), the Capitol set and the supposed rivalry between “The Hunger Games” and “Twilight”.

‘The Hollywood Reporter’ covers “The Hunger Games” – March 2012

The Hollywood Reporter have released a smorgasbord of new photos, videos and interview tidbits with the main cast of “The Hunger Games”. Jennifer, Liam, Josh and Gary are all on this month’s cover of ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ magazine. The magazine has released a new photoshoot, interview and video footage to tie-in with the movie’s release in just over a month. A scan featuring a new photo of Josh and a new interview has been added thanks to TeamPeeta.org.

Director Gary Ross and the cast on the behind-the-scenes drama of the $90 million Lionsgate epic that should bring young people back to the movies, propel Jennifer Lawrence into the stratosphere and launch another (fingers crossed) “Twilight”-sized franchise.

On Sept. 6, 2010, Gary Ross boarded a plane from Los Angeles for New York, carrying art boards and a seven-minute film he’d made with thousands of dollars of his own money.

Ross was nervous: He was about to meet with the top brass at Lionsgate and pitch himself as director of their most high-profile project, The Hunger Games. The then-53-year-old hadn’t made a film since Seabiscuit seven years earlier, and even though he was a four-time Oscar nominee, he was an unlikely candidate for what the independent studio hoped to be a major franchise. Celebuzz have kicked off the ’100 Days ’til the Hunger Games’ viral with an exclusive interview with Josh. In it he talks about his reaction to getting the role, his skill at baking, his relationship to Peeta, the emotional and physical challenges of the film and much, much more! A few snippets from the interview can be read below.

The site also promises more exclusive interviews with Josh and the rest of the cast in the lead up to the March 2012 release of “The Hunger Games”.

On Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss)
“Jennifer’s portrayal of Katniss is so spot on. She really does encapsulate Katniss’ strength as a heroine perfectly. She to me is the one that stands out immediately.”

On who would win a real-life Hunger Games scenario: Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth or himself
“That’s a tough question, honestly. I grew up playing outside, playing in the woods. I’m very into camping and survivalist kinda things. I watch a lot of Man Vs. Wild, so I feel like I’m well prepared in that sense. It would be a close one. I might be a frontrunner in that battle, I’m not sure!”

On baking and grilling
“I can bake. I can bake a mean apple pie. A French apple pie!” Hutchinson proudly added with a big grin on his face. “That’s how good I am. I can bake a little, I made some loaves of bread that weren’t that bad actually. I’m more of a grill master.”
